Merced College’s Ruano known as honoree for Latina Luncheon

Merced university region 4 Dean Sylvia Ruano was selected as you of a few speakers who can be honored for his or her efforts into the grouped community during the 2020 Latina Women’s Luncheon on March 6. The event and acknowledgment are sponsored by the Merced County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

“once I heard about any of it, I happened to be really amazed and honored, ” Ruano stated. “I’m humbled. ”

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce would be celebrating four females including Ruano at their yearly Latina Women’s Luncheon during the Italo-American Lodge, western eighteenth Street, in Merced, on March 6 from 11 a.m. To 2 p.m. Seats are $30 each.

The honoring coincides with Marches Women’s History and continually highlights the dedications woman have in the progression of our communities month. Lilliana Sanchez-Ramos, Nereida Ochoa Jantz and Nicole Lopez had been additionally nominated by their peers and assessed due to their achievements in community solution, expert success, and life quality that is personal.

Karla Seijas, the keynote presenter when it comes to luncheon, had been seen as Latina ladies regarding the year year that is last her advocation to solution people and their own families.

Sylvia Ruano was raised within the Pomona area and soon after relocated to Redding where she went to Shasta university and attained a degree that is associate prior to receiving a BA from Simpson University and an MS through the University of LaVerne. She had been the person that is first her household to wait and graduate from college.
